JAPANICA!

Yes indeed, ladies and gentleman, the super alliance between the United States and Japan has just gotten stronger. Japan has recently revised its constitution and found that certain boundary  restrictions that were in place were not specified in its constitution. As you would expect, Japan extended those boundaries in order to better accommodate the alliance that it has with the United States. It now can defend other countries around the world and not just neighboring countries. This is a huge deal because it means that it can now destroy missiles coming from the growing threat of North Korea. These new boundaries are particularly useful with the old, but growing threat of China, however, Japanese officials have recently stated that these changes are not because of any country, and are only for the increased defense of Japan. The new guidelines are especially amazing for Japan considering its long and conflicted history. I say that because one of the primary goals of this change is to help out in the world in humanitarian issues, and in Japan’s history, particularly in WWII, it committed the atrocities that it is now trying to prevent. All in all I think that this is the best move that Japan could have made because it can now help out the world in defense issues and it can now help to strive for a world with respected human rights.

It's Kermit!!

Finally, somebody found an actual Kermit. Now we don't have to guess on which type of frog Kermit is, we have a real-life example of him. I am sure that when the character Kermit was created, they had no idea that a frog like this actually existed. In all seriousness this is a huge deal for the science community, because this isn't an ordinary frog, it is a glass frog. A glass frog is a classification of frog with a translucent stomach. This means that almost all of a glass frog’s organs are visible. Now that I have gotten all of the basic information out of the way, I suppose that you, the reader, might want to know the name of this creature. The name of this magnificent beast is none other than Hyalinobatrachiumdianae. The last time a new glass frog was found the year was 1973 in Costa Rica, which is where Kermit was found as well. Costa Rica seems to be a hotspot for glass frogs as it already has 14 species of glass frog, and this discovery leads scientists to believe that more can be found in this small nation. As for me, I hope that there are more of these magnificent works of nature found in the near future.

Finally, Somebody Makes an Abortion Law

It may not be the action that most Catholics want, but at least it's a start. This week, the governor of Kansas passed a law banning the abortion described as dismemberment. Now, this doesn't mean that all forms of abortion are illegal in Kansas, but it does mean that this form of abortion is no longer legal. For those of you, like me, who had no idea what this form entails I'll tell you. It basically is the dismemberment of an unborn child from the uterus piece by piece. This practice is most common in the second trimester of pregnancy because of the size of the fetus at this point. By then the fetus is generally too large to easily extract so patients opt for the dismemberment method. This law, however, is not without its opponents. The Planned Parenthood Advocates of Kansas and Mid-Missouri have strongly criticized this law, saying that it undermines the decision making ability of women. As of now, Kansas is the only state with an abortion law, and the organization has taken advantage of this, attempting to peer pressure the governor into rethinking his decision. The governor has shown no sign of giving in to such pressure, and even is hoping that the peer pressure will help other states to make the same decision he has. I agree with the Kansas governor completely on this issue and actually hope that he takes it a step further and bans abortion beyond a certain growth stage.

Gov. Sam Brownback tweeted that he was proud to sign the law.

What a Surprise, Another Bush Scandal

Let's see what dumb thing the Bush family has done this time. Oh, look, there is Jeb Bush  running for office. Well, that's not so dumb is it? Yes, it is, because he forgot to check out who he was dealing with, and he was dealing with was drug dealers. Yes, ladies and gentlemen the man who is now running for president had investments with drug dealers. You would have thought that the man who was the governor of Florida would have done some background checks before jumping on board with a company with whom he has no prior relations. Well, Jeb did no such thing, instead he jumped right on board once he saw how many celebrities had already invested in this company, which is named InnoVida. He was only looking to replenish his far from empty bank account and didn't care how he did it. He actually served three years on the company's board as a consultant, raking in $470,000 before he exited the company. I will give him this: he exited the company before things got too hairy. However, he didn't think that this would have any backlash, as he has been clean for four years, but now that he is running for president people are starting to pay more attention to him and his past. The company itself was full of easily identifiable holes. It doesn't help his case that the main man behind this company, Claudio Orsorio, has been convicted of a $40 million investment fraud. Osorio's co-owner, Engin Yesil, has been convicted of selling drugs. One of Orsorio's board members had also been caught smuggling drugs. The company and Orsorio had fallen into irreplaceable debt, and not nine months before Bush joined in the company's factory was evicted. So it seems to me that Jeb is either the dumbest Bush or the epitome of selfishness. He chose to ignore each and every sign that was telling him that this company is full of criminals just so he would make a pretty penny.
